Favorite LEGO Ideas August 2024 featured image

Introduction

In this blog post, I’m sharing my top picks for LEGO Ideas in August 2024! This month’s lineup includes two modular building concepts: a health center and beauty shops, as well as a TV show themed idea inspired by Gravity Falls. There is also a modern sawmill and a space-themed playground that’s perfect for young astronauts. Be sure to check them out and let me know which ones are your favorites!

LEGO Ideas Sawmill

Sawmill

The sawmill LEGO Idea is designed to look and function like a real sawmill. From the log intake to the finished wood output, it mimics the process of turning a log into wood. The set features machinery, such as debarkers and saws, and includes minifigures to operate the equipment, making it both a fun display piece and an interactive play set.

I recently built a sawmill for my LEGO City.

In contrast to the many incredible medieval sawmills the community has designed over the years, I aimed for a more modern and industrial version – fitting the time frame of my LEGO City. The sawmill features a fully detailed interior and accurately follows the entire process from debarking a log to cutting it into wooden boards. All printed tiles used in the set are already existing original LEGO prints.

I believe this set would be truly unique, functioning both as a standalone display model and as a perfect addition to any LEGO City!

Whether you’re a fan of Gravity Falls or not, this LEGO Idea has a lot to offer. The set is packed with elements that capture the essence of the show, like the hidden secret journal and the quirky TV. Overall, it would make a cute playset.

Its iconic location and wonderful cast of characters are ripe for interpretation and opportunity among the LEGO group. Fan sites dedicated to the show are still heavily active over a decade following the shows release, proving it has stood the test of time and is a worthy addition to the LEGO Ideas collection!

LEGO Ideas La Belle Ruelle

La Belle Ruelle

For a modular city set, this LEGO Idea is unique as it features both a hairdresser and a perfume shop. I like the building’s design, which successfully combines various architectural elements. The inclusion of characters such as shoppers, a saleswoman, a barber, and a famous clown adds life to the scene, enhancing the overall charm of the set.

The story this work tells!

Welcome at La belle ruelle!

„La belle ruelle“ is the lovely name the town dweller gave to this place. Here you will find the town’s most famous hairdresser and a very old and noble perfumery called „Brick Scent“, which has a range of products from the most noble and oldest vintage perfumes to very modern scents. Many people enjoy strolling through this beautiful alley and stopping by the perfumery or treating themselves to a new hairstyle at “Hair Style”.

The flair of this place is unique and reminds on better days. Granny has just arrived here and is about to go to the hairdresser to get her hair rejuvenated. Monsineur Greenhorn is already waiting inside to get his turn, and enjoys in the meantime a captivating book. The hairdresser is busy doing the hair of a city legend, whom everyone affectionately calls “Invisible” (this has to do with his art).

The perfumery is also well attended. Although, the famous and popular clown Julien is just riding past on his bicycle, two customers willing to buy are already in the store. Günther looks around with interest, while Tsiliegirl gets advice from the competent saleswoman, who is also trained as a perfumer. Intoxicated by all the wonderful scents, they are immersed in a world of infinite beauty. Both will definitely find the best fragrance that suits individually to each of them!

On the upper floor is the hairdresser’s modest apartment, which is accessed via a terrace to which the medieval-looking staircase in the middle leads. The apartment contains a small kitchen which opens into the living room as well as a toilet, a bath room and separated by a room divider is a bed (let’s call it sleeping room). Skwiggle, the local photographer and owner of Stone’s Throw Photography (it’s just a few blocks away) is currently taking advantage of the great view from the patio to take some cool photos of the town. He does this on behalf of the city’s tourism association, which has ordered new postcards for the Info Point.

It’s of course a nice day in Lego town and really joyful at „La belle ruelle“.

Why did I build it?

Since I love to create modular buildings, I couldn’t wait after submitting my last projects to start with a new one. After all, I already had numerous ideas in mind! Actually, it all started with the idea of creating a double building that would house at least one hairdressing salon. I also had some ideas in mind about the furnishings of the hairdressing salon and the general shape of the building. One of my first thoughts was to design the bay window with wood paneling and ornamentation. The medieval-looking staircase in the middle was perfect for separating the two sides of the building and making the upper floor accessible. When I created the right side of the building with the smaller, elongated shop, I actually had no clue what would finally be housed there. I ultimately got the idea for the perfumery from my wife, which I liked immediatelly! In contrast, it was very quickly clear to me that the hairdresser’s apartment must be upstairs.

Unfortunately I had to skip the idea of additional vehicles, just to stay within the part limit. It was definitely very close again, but I am very happy with the final result!

The creation was a lot of fun to me! I hope you can see all the passion and fun which have been incorporated into this creation! If so, I would be delighted to receive your support and a comment!

Why I believe it would make a great LEGO set?

In fact, I think, that this creation would be a beautiful addition to any LEGO collection of modular buildings! It can be connected to other buildings via linker parts and Technic bricks on the right possitions. The set uses a few advanced building techniques and it would be pure fun to build it. In addition, I like the idea to add a hairdresser and a perfumery to any LEGO town. Additionally, the set comes with a few cool minifigs. In my opinion, such vintage buildings are always an asset to any collection, no matter how good it is! I hope you see it the same way!

So, don’t miss to support!

Give me the chance to return easily the favor and leave therefore a comment!

Thx a lot!

Have fun!

LEGO Ideas Space Playground

Space Playground

As a fan of space, I’m really excited about this LEGO Idea. It includes a see-saw, swings, a rocket ship, and a slide, making it a fun playground for kids. I can picture myself dressing up as an astronaut and pretending to launch into space in my rocket ship.

Space babies are awesome!

You love them? We too.

This set is a collaboration between STEINE-ANKAUF (idea) and LAURINATOR (design)

Welcome to the space playground. Inspired by the cute space babies this set offers an imaginative environment for our little space adventurers to play and explore.

With a galactic slide, interstellar wings, a riding rocket and a spaceship seesaw are the fascination of outer space with the fun of playing on earth combined in this playground.

Facts:

The design contains 664 pieces including three space babies. Dimensions are 32 cm width, 20,8 cm deep and 7,6 cm height.

Progress:

As we are big space fans since our childhood,we  were always dreaming to create our own LEGO® space set. As I fell in love with the new space sets I wanted. Because we are in love with those space baby astronauts we decided to arrange a design that would be a perfect LEGO® set to combine into old LEGO® designs and could possibly be a cool standalone playset as well.

If you love this idea, we would be very happy about your support.

Maybe our dream can come true…

LEGO Ideas Health Centre

Health Centre

The Health Centre would make a great addition to any modular set collection. Designed as a modular, disabled-friendly building, it features doctor’s offices, ramps, and elevators for accessibility. What makes it stand out are the realistic details that mirror a real hospital. These include a pay machine next to the parking garage door, a water cooler, an eye chart, an x-ray machine, an ambulance bay, and detailed signs throughout the building.

Greetings, dear LEGO fans!

It has been a long time since I published my last project, and the moment has come — meet the HEALTH CENTRE!

Creation Story

Three things inspired me to create something like this:

  1. I love modular sets.
  2. There are very few corner buildings among the official sets.
  3. I don’t remember any complete hospital, clinic, medical center, or any other medical institution among the sets.

Description

The medical center is a three-story building built in a modern style and equipped with the latest technology.

Facade***

Along the center, there is a pedestrian zone, and various signs are located, with a convenient ramp for disabled individuals.

1st floor***

On the first floor, there is a reception desk, a restroom (with side grab bars for disabled individuals), an ATM, a water cooler, and a door leading to the garage. Informational panels and signs on each floor will help you navigate inside the building.

2nd floor***

The second floor has two doctors’ offices: an ophthalmologist and a radiologist. You can wait for your turn sitting on comfortable sofas, admiring a beautiful plant, or reading various magazines.

3rd floor***

On the third floor, there is a dentist’s office, and through the window, you can see how they brought in a disabled person with a broken leg who is urgently being taken for an X-ray. Movement between floors is facilitated by an elevator.

The building itself can be easily connected to other modular structures thanks to the technique parts on the sides, and for ease of play, it can be disassembled into floors. The model consists of 2,730 pieces.

I believe this idea could make a great set and complement any collection, as many people want to have a complete modular medical center in their city!
